Product Description: bookingkit is building a global distribution system for tours and activities. Combining a SaaS product to help providers administrate their business, an IBE to get online bookings on the providers' own websites, and a channel manager to distribute the tours and activities, bookingkit offers a comprehensive business solution. The product helps tours and activities providers to reduce administrative effort and drive revenue both via their own website and the connected distribution channels.
Business Model: bookingkit is combining a classic SaaS approach (fixed monthly fees from the business customers) with a transactional business. On each booking, bookingkit earns a share and is therefore committed to the success of its customers on their own websites and via the marketing network.
Competitors: bookingkit established a market-leading position in German-speaking countries and is on the way to also gain the lead in Europe.
Competitive Edge: By offering a comprehensive & easy-to-use software, tours & activities providers can seamlessly administrate their business online. They also sell their offerings and the availabilities both on their own website ('booking engine') & on distribution partners such as GetYourGuide & Viator.
Market Opportunity: The tours and activities market is the third-biggest tourism market after flights and hotels. While GDSs are well-established in those markets, the tours and activities market is mostly undigitized. bookingkit is targeting this opportunity with the goal to get to a market-leading position in Europe. This is pretty much a green-field opportunity as the competitive landscape is on a manageable level.
Early Customers: Belantis (leisure park), Die Roten Doppeldecker (hop-on and -off busses in Hamburg & Dresden, Germany), AirService Berlin (flightseeing)
