Roberto has over 25 years of experience in travel technology having worked for a GDS and founded backoffice and reservations companies. An entrepreneur at heart, in 2016 Roberto noticed the changes in Fintech and the rise of Blockchain. The idea came to leverage such new technologies to revolutionize settlement in the travel Industry. In late 2018, Roberto went back to ‘start-up mode’ to fund Travel Ledger.

Product Description: Travel Ledger is an electronic invoice and remittance system which is connected to UK and European banking for easy and secure payments between global travel buyers and suppliers.

Travel Ledger automates the complex processes of invoicing, remittance and funds transfer so businesses can reduce transaction costs, speed up payments and reduce risk.
Business Model: Travel Ledger is based on a low subscription + transaction fee model. Buyers are charged a small fee based on each Seller payment that is processed via the platform while Sellers are charged on a per booking basis but only when that booking is reconciled and paid by a Buyer (no charges for bookings submitted but not processed).
Competitors: Companies in the B2B payment space including Credit Cards. Travel Ledger is focused on partners that settle large amounts on a regular basis.
Competitive Edge: Travel Ledger is providing its participants an easy way to submit and exchange electronic invoices/statements and payment/ remittances using a standard format that can be automated hence eliminate errors, reduce cost and increase overall supply chain trust.
