Gary Morrison CEO
Gary Morrison was appointed CEO and Executive Director of Hostelworld Group Plc in July 2018. During his tenure, Gary transformed Hostelworld into a social network powered online travel agent, with a company mission to “help travellers find people to hang out with”

Gary joined Hostelworld from Expedia (2011-2018) where he was Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Worldwide, and also served on the Board of Directors of Despegar (NYSE DESP), AirAsiaExpedia and Voyages SNCF. Prior to this, Gary held several senior management positions at Google and Motorola’s Mobile Devices division including VP and Head of Product Management for Motorola’s Smartphone division. Prior to Motorola, he co-founded Webrewards, a UK based startup which he sold to Bertelsmann AG in 2001.

Earlier in his career, Gary spent 10 years in corporate development/M&A, consulting and engineering roles at General Electric, Booz Allen & Hamilton, and Schlumberger France respectively. Gary holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Masters in Engineering (Meng, Distinction) from Leeds University UK.
