Jeroen Merchiers Managing Director, EMEA
Jeroen is responsible for Airbnb’s business in EMEA, driving strategy and growth for the region which makes up about 50% of Airbnb’s global business. He joined Airbnb in 2012 as the Country Manager for Spain and Portugal and by late 2016 had increased his remit to manage supply for EMEA before taking the role of Managing Director in 2017.

Jeroen was born and raised in Belgium but has been living in Spain for 12 years. He graduated as an Industrial Engineer and has an MBA degree from the IESE business school. Jeroen started his career in management & technology consulting, managing several international projects for renowned manufacturing companies such as Nortel, Microsoft or Rolls-Royce before moving on to become COO of Groupalia, an online leisure company. Jeroen is also a founding partner of Lanai Partners and active investor in young technology startups such as 21Buttons or Mr Jeff.
