Megumi Iriya is the Co-founder and COO of toraru, a travel-tech company based in Japan. She has six years of experience in public relations, having worked at a university and a television company. Throughout her career, she has successfully led event planning and audience engagement initiatives, leveraging strong communication skills and a deep understanding of intercultural dynamics.
The new online mobility service GENCHI, developed by toraru, aims to provide a next-generation solution replacing physical travel. It reduces business travel costs and CO2 emissions by replacing long-distance travel expenses with local labor costs. In addition, it creates new job opportunities in local communities. The mechanism of GENCHI – the telepresentation-like service- will be also useful not only to business people, but also to young people with limited financial resources, and people who have physical difficulties. We believe that this mutual understanding will lay the foundation for a more harmonious, seamless, and inclusive global society without barriers.
